As we enter the second year of the pandemic, incredible scientific progress has been made and although we are still sadly witnessing suffering on a large scale, we are also hopeful in the international Vaccine program which should help the world restore safety on a large scale within 2021.
The hospitality industry is still paused, but as we closely monitor the World Health Organization’s guidelines as well as those of the Italian government on all precautionary measures, we are aiming to reopen in May 2021.

Castello di Ugento & Masseria le Mandorle
Before the Covid-19 pandemic, we already prided ourselves in offering a personalized and caring service to our guests. This has not changed and our health and safety guidelines are being ever improved so as to control even better the environment we will welcome you in.
HYGIENE AND SAFETY:
– Twice-daily temperature measurement of all employees and suppliers
– Masks and gloves for employees and guests, as well as numerous hand sanitizer dispensers
– All employees wear uniforms made of material that can be sanitised
– All rooms are cleaned and sanitised twice a day including moving all furniture and sanitising 100% of the surfaces. Special deep cleaning for the fitness room.
– Room specific Air Conditioners will be ozone sanitised before every check in.
– Separate entrance to the properties for staff and suppliers
What is your Cancellation policy?
We offer fully flexible rates and wish to give you maximum peace of mind in planning your trip. Should you need to cancel or amend your dates the last 30 days before arrival (60 days for exclusive use) full payment will be transformed into a voucher valid until November 2021, with no penalty.
To complete a reservation, a deposit of 40% is required at time of booking, which is fully refundable up to 30 days prior to arrival (60 days for exclusive use). The remaining balance is due 20 days prior to arrival (30 days for exclusive use).
How do I travel from airports, both commercial and private?
We can organize private airport transfers to and from the Bari and Brindisi airports and other private airports in our region.
Can I rent cars in Ugento?
Absolutely, we will organize the rentals before your arrival and your car will be delivered to Castello or Masseria. You may then leave it with us or drive it to your next stop and then leave at the airport of your choice.
Do you offer private outdoor dining spaces?
Yes we have many vast areas so as to accommodate guests nicely distanced. We also offer room service should you request it. Il Tempo Nuovo restaurant at Castello and Le Mandorle in Masseria, both under the direction of Chef Tommaso Sanguedolce, will continue to offer the fine Pugliese cuisine our guests delight in.
Will the Puglia Culinary Centre cooking school be offering classes?
Of course, as soon as we open our doors we will be delighted to program your classes in our fine cooking school where you will also enjoy the 100 herb kitchen garden at Castello and market visits in total safety.
Do you have WI-FI?
We have complimentary fiber optic high speeed wi-fi on both properties and can help you setup a private working area in one of our salons.
Do you have bicycles for guests?
We offer complimentary bicycles to all our guests and can offer for rental also our family Vespas.
Are you family-friendly?
We welcome children at both Castello and Masseria le Mandorle, however we ask for small children to remain in sight and in the care of their parents at all times. Upon request we may arrange babysitting at both properties. We do believe Masseria le Mandorle is more fit for younger children with its pool and other sports facilities which are available to all.
Will the beaches be open this summer?
The Ionian beaches, only 10 minutes from our properties, are planning to open during the month of June. Please write us for more details as we will have updates as to how they will be organizing the lounge and restaurant areas.
We offer complimentary shuttle service to the nearest beaches as well as between Castello and Masseria, where we have our pool and the traditional restaurant Le Mandorle. Il Tempo Nuovo restaurant at Castello will be working as soon as we open.
What does an Exclusive Buyout include?
You and your loved ones will have exclusive use of Masseria le Mandorle. We require a minimum of 3 nights but stay as long as you wish. The exclusivity includes all 12 bedrooms, for up to 29 guests.
Daily breakfast, lunch & dinner, (excluding beverages) and complimentary shuttle to nearby beaches & towns are all included.
Complimentary use of bicycles, fitness room, pool, and tennis court.
